Edited by Wenjing Chen Review: Yang Hui Number of readings:Recently, in the 2024 FLTRP National Foreign Language Teacher "Teaching Star" competition, the team composed of Zhang Chenhua, Bi Xiaoning and Zhang Laixiang won the first prize in the "Understanding Contemporary China" group national semifinal。This is the first time that the School of Foreign Languages participated in the "Understanding Contemporary China" group competition in the "Teaching Star" competition and won the prize。
FLTRP's "Teaching Star" Competition is a large-scale competition for foreign language teachers in colleges and universities across the country, jointly organized by the Guiding Committee for English Teaching in Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education, the China Foreign Language and Education Research Center of Beijing Foreign Studies University, and Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press。The theme of FLTRP's "Teaching Star" Competition in 2024 is "Effective Use of Foreign Language Teaching Materials: Integration of data and Intelligence for Innovative Education".。The competition is divided into three groups: College English Group, English Major Group and "Understanding Contemporary China" group。After the selection and recommendation of colleges and universities across the country, the Organizing committee received a total of 638 entries for the national semifinals of the undergraduate English group。
This competition course "Understanding Contemporary China - English Speech" is a new undergraduate quality education elective course taught by Zhang Chenhua, which will be launched in the spring semester of 2024。The course attracted not only undergraduates, but also 12 international students to participate in the course。The course comprehensively promotes the implementation of the "three" work requirements, accelerates the construction of the "big ideological and political course" education pattern, and makes a new exploration and innovation for cultivating high-quality talents in the new era。
